Mentoring

Helping your child with continued day-to-day support, with their wellbeing, education and confidence at the forefront

We have found that children, and especially teenagers, thrive at school and university with added support, and having a mentor on hand to advise and oversee their studies is hugely successful at helping them achieve well beyond their expectations. Our school mentors are committed to ensuring their mentee has as happy and successful a school experience as possible, while our university and career mentors help students manage their workload, experience university life to the fullest and plan their future careers.

Our mentors are enquiring, inspiring educators, and we match them as much as possible with the interests, ambitions and characters of mentees. They come from all areas of the workplace and are often experienced parents themselves. They are passionate and successful in their careers, and become wholly invested in the welfare and achievement of their mentees. They help children not only thrive but grow in confidence and achieve beyond their expectations, which might mean the difference between a top university and the next best.

Our mentoring schemes include everything from the basics – making sure children are eating and sleeping well, managing their time successfully and interacting positively with their fellow students and teachers – to supporting students’ academic, creative and extra curricular life. We identify when extra help is needed with academic tutoring or sports coaching, and set goals with mentees. We liaise very regularly with parents and can be the vital link between families, their child and their child’s school.

At university level, we help students settle into their new environment and the freedom and expectations that brings, to manage their workload, excel in extracurricular activities and plan their careers after leaving university. We help mentees with academic skills when needed, help arrange internships and assist with writing resumes.

Most importantly, we are there to keep a constant eye on a student’s happiness, wellbeing and academic progress. We help correct any issues that may arise and, ultimately, ensure a student thrives and achieves above and beyond expectations.

Getting started

We start with getting to know you – we talk to you and, if appropriate, your child, to assess what help is needed. We will then put together an individual, tailor-made plan for you, detailing our expertise and successes, the strategies we use and how we can help you.

Talk to us

After her long illness, Sarah lost all confidence in herself and her abilities. Jane has been so wonderfully supportive, helpful and knowledgeable, always there when Sarah needed her. She is so much better now, more confident and excited about the prospects for the future. I cannot thank Jane enough - the future looks so much better as a result of her help.

Jonathan, London

Having been home schooled, I was worried about the big step of starting university but Jane helped me settle in, understand university life and was always there to listen to my worries. It was so helpful to have my own independent support when I needed it and to know that she was always there when needed. Thank you so much - it has made the start of my adult life highly enjoyable!
