Our team
Harriet Speed
Harriet’s ambition for young people and families is to ensure that they receive genuine and personal advice for successful school and university placement. She has honed her expertise in the independent education sector through holding roles as Director of Studies, Head of Section and Head of Department in some of the top UK independent boarding schools including Wycombe Abbey. Her broad range of roles has included responsibility for university applications including those to international institutions, University Admissions Testing, 11+, 13+ and 16+ admissions and building relationships with a range of UK independent schools.
Harriet is a qualified and experienced English teacher, holding a PGCE, MA in Education and PhD in Education and is an active researcher into the ways in which writing is taught. Harriet’s thorough understanding of all the facets of a student’s educational journey, and her expertise in this arena, allows her to offer unparalleled guidance and support to families as they navigate this landscape.
Paul Kelly
Paul’s expertise in British independent education and of the needs of parents, children and students worldwide was established as Director of School and University Placements at Britain’s oldest educational consultancy. This followed a career spent working at schools in the UK and abroad as a teacher, Head of Department and House Master. At Millfield his broad roles included supervising boarding, teaching, leading Pre-U History and manging all university applications and careers guidance before moving to a similar role at Wycombe Abbey School.
Paul’s thorough understanding of the educational journey from interviewing potential pupils, teaching and then assisting them in their applications to a wide range of universities and other institutions means he offers unrivalled educational guidance.
Claire Le Hur
Claire’s passion to help each student find their best way to flourish and reach their potential has been well evidenced through the breadth of her experiences.
With more than 15 years experience in UK Schools, Claire has taught at a top London prep school for a year, then spent nine years at Rugby School where she was Head of Department and a boarding house tutor. She has worked at Colfe’s, a London day school, for the past six years as Head of Partnerships, Head of Oxbridge and a Sixth Form Tutor. She also works closely with the admissions department, for 11+ and 16+ entry.
Claire has a degree in Classics, an MPhil and a PGCE from the University of Cambridge. Claire also is chair of a new Classical Greek qualification and is currently studying for an MA in Education, Policy and Society at KCL (Kings College London).
Guy Nobes
Since Graduating from Oxford University, Guy has been an English Teacher, Head of English and Assistant Housemaster in a number of prestigious independent schools in the U.K. and internationally.
For the past nineteen years he has run the higher education and careers department at one of the U.K.’s leading independent schools, Marlborough College.
In the course of his professional life he has written extensively and is a member of various advisory boards.
Guy enjoys helping students find the best possible institutions and courses for them, and assisting them as they put together the strongest possible applications.
